Ohio Valley ABC's Safety Committee is committed to promote safety in the workplace and increase awareness of current and continuous safety issues.
To help promote professional growth of Ohio Valley ABC member's EH&S personnel, ABC's Safety Committee selects, researches and presents a different safety issue at each monthly committee meeting. The topic selected is one of current interest to safety professionals in the construction industry and is presented by a committee member or an outside professional resource. The committee also sponsors two annual Open Houses; one in the Northern membership area and another in the Southern area.
In January of each year, the Safety Committee provides a one-day Safety Training Conference & Expo. This conference is held at the Dayton Convention Center and gives participants the opportunity to attend 20+ break out sessions, see a number of safety demonstrations, and visit exhibits by area Safety suppliers. The meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month from 11:30am - 1:00pm at the ABC office in Springboro, and lunch is provided by the committee.
It is time to put on your hard hats, safety glasses and your safety shoes! The ABC Safety Committee is hosting its biannual Open House in Cincinnati. This is the perfect time grab a bite to eat, meet the Safety Committee and get your safety questions answered.
The Open House will be held at the new ABC Training Center in Cincinnati at425 Elliott Ave., Cincinnati, 45215, on Thursday, September 10. Registration is FREE, but you must be registered in order to attend. Lunch is being provided by Kelchner. The Open House will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM and is geared toward owners or individuals responsible for jobsite safety.
Mike McIntosh, ABC’s Education Director, will be hosting a tour (currently under construction) of our new training center. Please bring your hard hat and safety glasses with you! After the tour we will have a bite to eat and the ABC Safety Committee members will be on hand to answer safety questions and share information about our safety services.
