OSHA Training Institute has issued training materials for the Construction Focus Four, including objectives and guidelines, PowerPoint presentation modules, pre- and post-tests, a test measuring tool, and a DVD titled Construction Safety: Choice or Chance. These training materials are required to be used in both the 10 and 30 Hour OSHA Construction Outreach Training Program classes. Your presentations must be updated as soon as possible but no later than June 30, 2011.

The OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Center has begun a new blog specifically for Outreach trainers and training. The focus is on OSHA training, training techniques, new policies, and related topics.

New Introduction to OSHA Required Content
What:
OSHA has developed a new two-hour Introduction to OSHA module.
This new module is "Required Content" for all Outreach Training classes.
Outreach Trainers are now required to incorporate this two-hour module into every 10-hour and 30-hour Outreach Training class.
Content:
This new module focuses on the importance of workers' rights, employer responsibilities and how to file a complaint.
It also includes helpful worker safety and health resources.
Materials are based on a participatory training model which utilizes hands-on activities and include an Instructor Guide, PowerPoint slides, and student handouts.

The curriculum for this new module can be obtained by sending a request to outreach@midamericaosha.org or phone: 937-521-1574. The content will be posted soon on the OSHA website as well.
Effective Date
Effective immediately trainers must include this two-hour Introduction to OSHA module in all courses.
